OUR STORY

Several years ago the idea of creating a garden on the vacant lot at the corner of 2nd Street and Glendale Avenue came up in conversation with friends talking about the real estate market. At the time the idea sounded good, but it didn’t stick. Almost three years later, the time seemed right to pursue our dream to grow fruits and vegetables, but it also included the idea to provide the fresh vegetables to those in need. As a result, in November 2009, a group of women, each with a variety of gifts, talents, knowledge and life experience came together to create a garden to serve those within our immediate community.  We discussed how and where to begin, who would benefit, and how to bring the community together to serve. Since then we have been blessed to see our dream become a reality.

In 2017 we relocated to the Living Streams Church Campus and are honored to called our space at Glendale Avenue and Central Avenue home.

Our original mission was to provide healthy food to local charities but it has evolved in to creating a place where our community can come together to share their time, talent and treasure to help others. It has become a place for children and students to come to learn about gardening, healthy foods and giving back to others. We hope you will be part of our community as we continue to “Grow Together.”
